SpiceJet wheel falls off during takeoff, full emergency at Mumbai Airport 

Passengers aboard a SpiceJet Bombardier Q400 flight had a narrow escape on Friday when one of the aircraft’s outer wheels detached during takeoff from Kandla airport. The flight, carrying 75 passengers, was en route to Mumbai when the snag occurred.

Airport staff in Kandla discovered the missing wheel on the runway shortly after departure and alerted authorities. As a precaution, a full emergency was declared at Mumbai airport, ensuring that rescue and fire teams were on standby for the aircraft’s arrival.

Despite the alarming development, the pilots managed the situation with composure. The aircraft continued its journey without incident and touched down safely in Mumbai. Following a smooth landing, the plane taxied to the terminal under its own power, and passengers disembarked normally unaware at first of the seriousness of the situation.
