Bhubaneswar: Providing some more relief to the goods vehicle owners, the State Transport Authority of Odisha on Tuesday extended the grace period for payment of tax for the quarter of October-December 2020.

A notification from the State Commerce and Transport Department in this connection was issued on Tuesday extending the said grace period till November 30, 2020.

The State Transport department notification mentioned that “Due to the lockdown declared by the Central Government as well as the State Government to prevent the spread of COVID-19, goods carriage owners were not able to pay Motor vehicle tax and additional tax due for the quarter (October-December. 2020) within the grace period.”

“Considering the difficulties faced by vehicle owners of goods carriages, the State Government is pleased to extend the grace period for payment of Motor Vehicle tax and additional tax in respect of goods carriages for the quarter October-December, 2020 up to 30.11.2020,” the notification stated.
