Dhenkanal:Odisha Director General of police(DGP) Prakash Mishra on Thursday said Maoist activities have been contained in the state and the menace was now confined only to five districts.
 
The anti-Maoist operation of the police in different places of Odisha had checked the Maoist activities, which was earlier reported in 20 out of the total 30 districts, he told newsmen here.
 
Mishra, who inaugurated a new police out post building at Govindpur in Dhenknal district, stressed the need for community police system in more areas of the state to maintain law and order.
 
He advised police officers to be people-friendly so that common men would be benefited more by the law and order machinery.
