Bhubaneswar: Seeking a reduction in electricity tariffs in the State, the Samajika Nyaya Abhijan today kicked off a campaign to write letters to Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.

As part of the campaign, the Samajika Nyaya Abhijan has urged people to send postcard letters to the chief minister demanding reduction in power tariffs.

Addressing a presser at Red Cross Bhawan here, outfit advisor, Srikant Jena, said electricity rates are higher in Odisha as compared to Delhi despite the fact that power is being generated in Odisha. The Samajika Nyaya Abhijan will intensify its campaign till the State government does not take any concrete action to reduce tariffs, he added.

“Lakhs of letters will be written to the CM to create a public opinion against power tariff hike. The outfit will continue its fight till the government does not take a decision,” Jena added.
