Sambalpur: The last rites of Odia flight engineer Debendra Panda was performed at his ancestral village Kudapali in Bargarh district on Sunday.

A body of the engineer reached his residence at Ainthapali in Sambalpur. Many local leaders and government officials paid floral tribute there.

Debendra, who is survived by parents, wife and a six-year-old daughter, had been working in Inidan Air Force for last 18 years.

Notably, an aircraft of IAF crashed near Sitapur of UP on Friday killing eight officials including 1 pilot and engineer Debendra.
