Bhubaneswar: On the occasion of World Heritage Day, Odisha’s Culture department today organised a walk or ‘padyatra’ to create awareness about conserving and preserving heritage sites in the State.

The walk was started from Rajarani temple and ended at Ekamra Bana after passing through the city’s monuments like Lingaraj temple and flagged off by Tourism and Culture minister Ashok Panda.

“The main aim of this heritage walk is to create awareness among general public to conserve our precious monuments for next generations,” said the minister.

Echoing the same, Tourism and Culture secretary Arvind Padhee said, “This initiative is arranged to make people aware and give value to the heritage sites.”

Meanwhile, students of schools and colleges, folk artists and others participated in the walk.

Bhubaneswar MP Prasanna Patsani, MLA Priyadarshi Mishra and BMC mayor Anant Narayan Jena also took part in the walk.
