2023 proved to be the luckiest year for Bollywood Badshah Shah Rukh Khan. While Pathaan, Jawan and Dunki emerged as blockbusters, his extended cameo in Salman Khan-starrer Tiger 3 was icing on the cake. Now, after a brief hiatus, SRK is reportedly gearing up for his next and the shooting will start soon.

As per a recent report, the Don actor will kick off shooting for his next project this year by August.

During a recent interview on Star Sports, he revealed his plans to get back to films. He also mentioned that he remained very much occupied in 2023. While King Khan is currently busy with the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024, it is not just for his team Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) that he has not started working. Rather, he decided to take a break given the physical demands of his roles in the movies. Currently, he is enjoying his breather and concentrating on his team KKR.

He said, “I just felt ki main thoda rest kar sakta hoon. Teen filmein kar chuka hoon, it took a lot of physical work also. So I said maybe I’ll take some time off. I told the whole team ki, main matches ko aaunga. Fortunately, meri shooting ab August main hain, ya July… we plan in June, to June se shuru hojayegi ((I felt I could rest. I did three physically demanding films. I told the whole team I’d come to their matches. Fortunately, I don’t shoot my next till August or June, we plan in June)."

Furthermore, during the interview, SRK talked about Virat Kohli. He said, "I spent a lot of time with him, I just love him. We say that he is our son-in-law, he is our fraternity’s ‘damad’."

The Zero actor also revealed that he has been friends with Virat since they were dating. He also said that he knows him the most compared to other players.
As the co-owner of KKR, the Dunki actor revealed that the initial years of IPL were quite a challenging phase for him until his team won its first championship.

The Mohabbatein actor said, "The first five-six years were very challenging. I am not a cricketer… But I was the 12th man in KKR."

He further added, "As the 12th man, how to go field, serve the water, give the towel, and be able to explain that it is ok, give it time. Everything should be allowed to breathe.”

"There’s no nervousness. It is there for the first few matches, for everyone. In Eden Gardens, there is a left-side corner that is mine. I feel more than at home, more at family here," he said.
