Free Laptops To Class 12 Students: Odisha Govt Extends Deadline To Apply

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has extended the deadline for application submission to get free laptops under the ‘Biju Sashaktikaran Yojana’.

Meritorious Plus ll students can now apply to avail of the benefit till March 31, 2021. Earlier, the last date to apply for the same was March 18, 2021.

In a notice, the State Higher Education Department informed that the scrutiny of the applications (already applied by students) is underway.

Once the scrutiny is completed, the list of the deserving candidates will be displayed on the official website- www.dhe.odisha.gov.in, it said.

It is worth mentioning that the State government will henceforth transfer money directly to the bank accounts of the meritorious Plus II students instead of directly providing them laptops.

The Odisha government has been providing 15,000 laptops each year to meritorious class 12 students since 2013. So far, over 90,000 students have been reportedly covered under the scheme.
