Phulbani: Kandhamal police, SOG and CRPF jawans seized a powerful landmine weighing 20 kg and a tiffin bomb along with other explosive materials during a joint combing operation in Badabanga forest under Daringbadi police limits of Kandhamal district on Thursday.

The jawans during the operation have also seized Maoist uniforms, explosive materials and Maoist booklets a camp near Kerubadi and Gadapakhali villages. Combing operation has been beefed up in the nearby areas following the seizure.

Meanwhile, the district police have urged the red rebels to return to main stream through putting up posters at Brahmanigan, Daringbadi, Kotagarh and Tumudibandha villages.

Earlier on November 27, three Maoists including two women from Kandhamal district had surrendered before Ganjam SP in Berhampur.
