Bhubaneswar: In a bid to finalise its Lok Sabha candidates early, the All India Congress Committee's Central Election Committee (CEC) is likely to meet on Monday to discuss on the list sent to it by party's Screening Committee.

Sources said the CEC, which includes Congress President Sonia Gandhi, Vice President Rahul Gandhi and senior leader AK Antony, would take a final view on the list of 22 candidates for 21 Lok Sabha seats from Odisha.

Odisha Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) chief Jayadev Jena and Leader of Opposition Bhupinder Singh will also attend the meeting, sources added.

On Sunday evening, the party's Screening Committee met under the chairmanship of Oscar Fernandes in New Delhi where BK Hariprasad, party's Odisha in-charge and several state Congress leaders were present and debated on the candidates list from the state.

Sources said the probable list of candidates includes Giridhar Gamang for Koraput LS constituency, Pradip Majhi for Nabarangpur, Chandrasekhar Sahoo for Berhampur, Loknath Rath for Aska, Bhakta Charan Das for Kalahandi, Harihar Karan for Kandhamal, Santosh Mohan Dev for Puri, actress Aparajita Mohanty for Cuttack, actor Bijoy Mohanty for Bhubaneswar, Pratima Mallick for Jagatsinghpur, Dolagobinda Nayak for Kendrapara, Ashok Das for Jajpur, Anant Sethy or Sangram Jena for Bhadrak, Union Minister Srikant Jena for Balasore, Madhab Sardar for Keonjhar, Shayamsundar Hansda for Mayurbhanj, KP Singh Deo for Dhenkanal, Amar Pradhan for Sambalpur, Kishore Patel for Bragarh, Sarat Pattanaik for Balangir and Bijay Toppo for Sundargarh constitutency.
