Cuttack:  A chopper of Indian Coast Guard made an emergency landing in a paddy field here on Thursday.

The chopper was moving from Barrackpore of neighbouring West Bengal to Chennai as a part of its routine check procedure.

But the CG 817 helicopter had to make an emergency landing in Dhanagharpada village at about 3 pm this afternoon as it ran out of fuel, sources said.

The pilot, co-pilot and an official travelling in the chopper were said to be safe.

A sign of excitement was seen among the local people as they rushed to the spot to have a glimpse of the chopper.

The pilot, however, refused to comment anything before the camera.

The chopper, later, left for its base after the hitch was cleared.
