Puri: Close Circuit Television (CCTV) cameras will be installed in and outside the Sri Jagannath temple in Puri during the upcoming Rath Yatra to keep strict vigil on the movements of the visitors.
It was decided in a security review meeting chaired by special DG Sanjib Marik at the SP office on Wednesday. The Intelligence Bureau department will be entrusted with the task of special security for the grand festival, Marik said after the meeting.
As the newly constructed NH has not yet been completed, a one-way traffic system has been planned for this year also to avoid traffic snarl. The new Jagannath road connecting Puri town with the main road will be completed before the big event, Marik said.
In the meeting, Puri SP Anup Sahu, IG Soumendra Priyadarshi, IB director Sunil Roy, and collector Dhiren Patnaik attended the meeting.
