Cuttack: After identifying assets running into crores of rupees in the past couple of days, Vigilance sleuths have now stumbled upon more assets and properties belonging to SCB Medical College and Hospital doctor RK Jena, who has been charged with amassing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

The anti-corruption wing on Friday detected Rs 14.55 lakh kept by Jena in the form of investments in monthly income schemes and recurring deposits at the post office inside SCB Medical campus.

A senior official informed that the deposits have been verified by postal authorities. It was also found that Jena had recently started construction of a house in an area of 1934 sqft located at Chandrasekharpur in Bhubaneswar.

The cost of the project is estimated to be around Rs 8.25 lakh while the exact assessment and valuation is on, said sources.

Earlier, gold and diamond jewelries worth over Rs 12 lakh, movable and immovable properties to the tune of over Rs 3.5 crores were detected in the name of Jena and his family members.
