Cuttack: One among the four injured in the attack on Labour Minister Susanta Singh’s brother Subrat Singh died while undergoing treatment at SCB Medical College and Hospital here late on Friday night.

The deceased identified as Dileswar Sahu was driver of Subrat’s vehicle. He had sustained severe injuries on his head and other parts of his body.

Earlier on Thursday night, Subrat’s vehicle was attacked by unidentified miscreants near Banabira under Sohela block of Bargarh district. The driver Sahu, Subrat and two others were injured in the attack.

All four of them were rushed to Sohela hospital and later shifted to Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research (VIMSAR) in Burla. Sahu was further shifted to SCB hospital as his condition deteriorated.

While condition of one among the rest three was stated to be stable, Subrat and other injured are still undergoing treatment at VIMSAR, Burla.

Police have reportedly arrested three persons in connection with the attack and seized one live bullet, two four-wheelers and a Royal Enfield motorcycle from the spot.
