Bhubaneswar: Answering questions raised about mysterious ‘disappearance’ of two women Maoists – Champa and Sindu, IG Sanjeeb Panda on Friday, revealed that both of them are presently housed at SOS village in Bhubaneswar.
The two women Maoists were earlier injured in a police encounter at Kashipur while the family members claimed that they were ‘missing’ from police custody since February 9, 2011.
OTV had also telecast a report on Champa and Sindu’s missing and plight of their families who were running from pillar to post to get information about their whereabouts. However, the incident had come to light after former police official Sarat Chandra Buruda alleged police involvement behind their missing.

According to Panda, as Sindu and Champa, after their arrest, had claimed themselves to be orphans, they were rehabilitated at SOS village. Both of them completed their matriculation from open school and subsequently did their diploma from Cuttack. They are now eligible to get jobs, Panda added.
