Minor arrested for abusing class-VII girl, circulating MMS in social media

Baripada: The Kuliana Police in Mayurbhanj district on Thursday arrested a minor boy of the village for allegedly abusing a girl student and circulating a video clip of the assault in social media.

Police said the accused has confessed to the crime.

Father of the girl, a Class VII student, said, “Few days back while my daughter was going to take bath in a nearby river, three Class IX boys of her school intercepted and asked her to take photos with them. When she resisted, they physically abused her and took a video of the incident. Then they circulated the video in several social networking sites.”

He added that initially her daughter was hesitating to disclose the matter as the boys had threatened her of dire consequences if she reveals it before anybody.

The police are investigating the matter.
