G Udayagiri: Police is on the hunt for two under-trial prisoners (UTPs), who escaped by jumping the boundary wall of G Udayagiri Sub Jail in Phulbani district on Tuesday evening.

Sukuka Hansda, IIC of G Udayagiri Police Station said the two UTPs—Pankaj Digal of Upparadandi village under Phiringia police station limits and Suresh Naik of Panchayat Sahi village under Raikia police station limits—managed to escape from the Jub Jail after scaling the jail boundary wall in the late in the evening.

“While Pankaj was arrested by the police in connection with a murder case on November 6 last year, Suresh was arrested in a theft case on March 18 this year,” the IIC informed.

She said police has registered a case under section 29 of the IPC yesterday and efforts are on to nab the two UTPs.
