Bhubaneswar: In an extremely rare glimpse of Naveen Patnaik running errands, the chief minster dropped by a bookstore in the capital city, leaving other shoppers and bystanders in a frenzy.
Not only the shopkeeper, but also everyone around was startled by the sudden appearance of Naveen, who along with his sister Geeta Mehta visited a book store inside Pal Heights mall in Jaydev Vihar on Wednesday evening.
It may have taken some time for others to realize that the BJD supremo was actually present there, but it wasn’t long before when a crowd gathered. While some were too awestricken to enter the shop, others were already taking selfies with the CM – which was politely obliged to by Naveen who asked his security guards to make way and smiled to the cameras.
“No one had absolutely any idea that the CM will visit the store like this. He stayed here for few minutes then he bought some books and left,” said a nearby shopkeeper.
“He was here along with his sister and a security guard. We were totally astonished,” said another shopkeeper.
The owner of the book store said Naveen bought five classical literature books.
