Bhubaneswar: Are you interested in making a career in radio jockeying ? Well, this could excite you as a summer training programme on radio jockeying will be organised in the capital city in May.

The workshop to be organised by the Outreach will be held for 15 days. The participants will be trained on radio script writing, live show presentation, diction, pronunciation and modulation, outstation broadcast, radio news reporting, editing and reading, listeners’ interaction, dubbing and voice acting and public service broadcasting.

The participants will visit radio stations and work on practical assignments in professional studios. During the workshop, importance will be given on body language and personality development.

“A team of experts and RJs, including National Academy of Broadcasting and Multimedia Director (P) Deepak Samantray, IIMC Dhenkanal Head Mrinal Chatterjee, Odisha Live Founder Editor and CEO Nilambar Rath, BBC Correspondent Sandeep Sahu, famous dubbing artist Rakhee Das, retired senior grade announcer Basant Mohanty, Radio Chocolate Programming Head Sangram Mishra, Big FM Bhubaneswar Programming Head Srija Shahin Siddharth and Red FM Bhubaneswar Programming Head Priyadarshi Mohanty  will train the participants,” said organiser Subrat Kumar Pati.

Since there is no dedicated training programme on RJing in State, this workshop would help youngsters interested to make career in the field to know more about the profession, said Pati, who has been organising radio fairs    .

All the participants will appear a test and be provided with a certificate at the end of the workshop. The minimum qualification required to join the workshop is Plus-II and people from all disciplines can enrol in the programme. While there are 50 seats available for the programme, the participation fee is Rs 2,000.
