Apart from Odisha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off eight more Vande Bharat Express trains, to help improve connectivity across 11 states namely Rajasthan, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Bihar, West Bengal, Kerala, Jharkhand and Gujarat.

The train will have stoppages at Khurda Road, Bhubaneswar, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Angul, Sambalpur City and Jharsuguda.
It is said that the regular train operation of the second Vande Bharat Express is likely to start from this month end between Puri and Rourkela.
The stone pelting incident on Thiruvananthapuram bound Vande Bharat Express took place between Thalassery and Mahe in which window panes of C-8 coach got smashed. However, no one was injured during the incident.
While addressing the gathering, Vaishnaw announced that second Vandhe Bharat Express will roll soon in the state. The Vande Bharat Express is scheduled to run from Rourkela to Bhubaneswar.
After his bad experience, Qadir alleged that he had to go through the ordeal due to the absence of an emergency system in Vande Bharat Express trains.
Bhopal railway department said a technical team has reached the spot and is monitoring the situation.
The discount shall be implemented with immediate effect.
This is for the first time so many Vande Bharat trains have been launched in one day.
Along with the semi-high speed train, Modi also dedicated New Bongaigaon--Dudhnoi--Mendipather and Guwahati--Chaparmukh electrified sections to the nation. He also inaugurated the new DEMU/MEMU (workshop for trains) shed at Lumding.
The train will be flagged off virtually by Modi at 12 noon when it commences its journey from Guwahati railway station, an official release said here on Sunday.
Through a notification issued by the Ministry of Railways, the Central government notified new railway broad gauge (BG) lines between Talcher and Angul (16.5 km) with ‘Y’ connection at Talcher and a new BG rail line from Bargarh Road to Nuapada Road (142 km) under the East Coast Railway as 'Special Railway Project.'
The Vande Bharat Express will run six days a week except Thursdays. It will start from Howrah at 6.10 am and reach Puri at 12.35 pm. In the return direction, it will leave Puri at 1.50 pm and arrive at Howrah at 8.30 pm.
