Phulbani: Normal life has been hit as intense cold wave conditions continue to prevail in most parts of the State. Like every winter, Daringbadi of Kandhamal district experienced snowfall with a light layer of snow covering the region.

Phulbani recorded a minimum temperature of 4.5 degrees Celsius, the lowest so far this winter in the State, informed the Regional Director of India Meteorological Department (IMD), Bhubaneswar, Sarat Chandra Sahu.

The maximum and minimum temperatures for the next four to five days will stay the same, he added.

"Wind at a speed of 25 kilometres per hour is flowing from the North. Besides, cloudless sky in the night is supporting the drop in temperature. The situation is going to change with the increase in speed of coastal winds," said Sahu.
