Bargarh: Row surfaced over the change in venue of the famous Dhanu Yatra, after 5 councillors of the Bargarh municipality resigned protesting relocation.

Councillors Ajit Seth, Naren Pradhan, Sashi Agarwal, Bedmati Pradhan and Basudev Bagarti resigned from their posts. Of these four are from BJD and one from the Congress party.

"We are residents of Bargarh and are quite saddened by the adminstration's decision to shift the venue of the Yatra. Hence, we have resigned," said Badamati Pradhan.

Moreover, along with these councillors, five members of the Dhanu Yatra organizing committee also resigned protesting the change in venue of the festival.

"The district administration is not trying to hurt any feelings or cause any harm to the culture and tradition. A cultural program should be conducted at a free and safe place with fool proof fire security," said Bargarh Collector, Anjan Kumar Manik.
