Abandoned newborn boy rescued near pond in Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: A newborn baby boy was rescued near a pond in a farmland at Ria village under Parjang police limits of Dhenkanal district early morning today.

The infant has been rushed to the Parjang hospital, where he is undergoing treatment now.

According to reports, a villager identified as Duryodhan Samal had gone near the pond to attend nature's call when he found the infant and informed the villagers.

Later, the villagers informed the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) and admitted the toddler to the hospital, informed sources.

The identity of the newborn is yet to be established.
