2 Including Minor Dead, 10 Critical as Trekker Overturns in Jajpur

Jajpur: At least two passengers, including a minor boy, were killed and ten others sustained grievous injuries after a trekker in which they were travelling overturned near Ankulia Bridge under Binjhapur police limits of Jajpur district Wednesday afternoon.

The accident occurred after the axle of the trekker vehicle broke following which the driver lost control over the wheels.

All the passengers sitting on the rear seat were crushed under the vehicle after it overturned while two of them died on the spot.

Though the identification of the minor boy has not been ascertained yet, the other deceased Brajasundar Mallick was known to one of the passengers travelling in the same trekker.

“The driver lost control over the vehicle after the axle of the vehicle broke. Two passengers were killed on the spot. Around ten to 12 passengers have sustained injuries. We do not know anything about the minor boy,” said a local.

Getting information, police rushed to the spot and immediately shifted all the critically injured passengers to Jajpur District Headquarters Hospital (DHH) where they are undergoing treatment.
