Basdevpur: The Scheduled Caste Cell of BJP on Monday started indefinite demonstrations demanding the rehabilitation of displaced families of mega Kanpur irrigation project here.

“The rehabilitation of the displaced has long been neglected and these people have long been deprived,” said Biswabhusan Harichandan, senior BJP leader who attended the demonstration.

“Though project activities are in full swing, people who have lost their lands for the project are yet to be provided with accommodation,” Harichandan added.
