Chief medical officer (CMO) of Rourkela Government hospital, Dr R K Joshi, said that the patients with complaints of loose motion, vomitting and fever have been admitted at the hospital and were given proper treatment. Five of them have since been discharged, he added.
A medical team from Rourkela with adequate medicines have rushed to the village and door to door medical check up have been conducted to contain the disease, Joshi said.
The water supply found to be contaminated due to non-cleaning of over-head tank which may cause the water-borne disease in the village, Joshi suspects.
"We are taking all the precautionary measures to contain the disease", the CMO said.
