Oil Tanker Runs Over Woman, Daughter In Odisha's Balasore

A woman and her nine-year-old daughter were killed on Sunday as an oil tanker ran over them in Odisha's Balasore district, police said.

The incident happened near Mathani on National Highway-60, they said. The woman along with her daughter was walking by the roadside when the oil tanker suddenly skidded and ran over them, police said. Both of them died on the spot.

Home Guard Dies, Constable Injured In Mishap On Independence Day

A home guard on Sunday electrocuted to death while a constable sustained critical injuries after coming in contact with an 11-KV live wire at Siko Police Outpost in Khordha district.

As per reports, the duo was installing a pole to hoist the national flag at the police outpost on the occasion of Independence Day when it came in contact with the live wire.

The injured constable has been admitted to Bhubaneswar AIIMS.
