The Depression over southwest Bay of Bengal has moved west-north-westwards and crossed north Tamil Nadu and adjoining south Andhra Pradesh coasts between Puducherry and Chennai.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Friday said that the system is very likely to continue to move west-northwestwards and weaken gradually into a well-marked Low Pressure Area during the next six hours.

A trough runs from the cyclonic circulation associated with the Depression over north Tamil Nadu to interior Odisha across Coastal Andhra Pradesh at 1.5 km above mean sea level. Under its influence, light to moderate rainfall at most places with heavy rainfall at isolated places is very likely over Rayalaseema, Karnataka, North Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal on November 19 and 20 and, over south Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana and Kerala and Mahe on November 19.
