The God of cricket, Sachin Tendulkar is the latest among celebrities to fall victim to misinformation through deepfake videos. In the deepfake video, Sachin Tendulkar can be seen promoting an app. The video further claimed that his daughter Sara is also earning good money by playing on this application.

The Master Blaster on Monday expressed concern over the rampant misuse of technology.

In a post on his official X (formerly Twitter) handle, Sachin Tendulkar appealed for swift action to stop the spread of misinformation and deepfakes.

“These videos are fake. It is disturbing to see rampant misuse of technology. Request everyone to report videos, ads & apps like these in large numbers,” tweeted Sachin.

Sachin further wrote, “ Social Media platforms need to be alert and responsive to complaints. Swift action from their end is crucial to stopping the spread of misinformation and deepfakes.” (SIC)

It is pertinent to mention here that not only Sachin Tendulkar, but a lot of Bollywood celebrities including Rashmika Mandanna, Katrina Kaif, and Kajol had fallen victim to deepfake videos.

In Rashmika Mandanna's case, the deepfake video showed a woman, dressed in black, entering a lift. Her face was morphed and edited in a way that it resembled the actor.
