In a shocking incident, a wedding venue in Rajasthan’s Dausa turned into a battlefield after the groom refused to marry the bride in the middle of the rituals.

According to a News18 report, the incident took place in Nangal- Meena village of Dausa district.

Reportedly, the wedding of a youth, a native of Jhuthaheda village, was fixed with a girl from Nangal-Meena village on May 1. 

Everything was going smoothly. On the scheduled date of the marriage, the groom arrived at the bride’s home along with his family and friends in a grand procession.

The bride’s family also welcomed the groom and the baraat with full pomp and gaiety. Following which the marriage rituals also started and everyone was happy. 

After some time, the groom was called to the wedding mandap for the pheras. The groom after arriving was doing some rituals when he got a call after which he removed his turban and refused to marry the bride.  

Following this, the groom and bride’s families tried to convince the groom, however, he remained adamant on his decision which led to a heated argument.

Then the tension escalated between the families leading to a full-blown fight. Reportedly, some of the bride’s family members thrashed the groom and his clothes were also torn up in the process.

On receiving information, police officials from Mandawar and Mahua police stations reached Nangal Meena village and controlled the situation.

After this, both sides had a long meeting. Following the meeting, the families of the bride and groom decided not to go ahead with the marriage. Also, the expenses of the bride's side in the marriage ceremony were paid by the groom's side.
