As many as four woman constables deployed as part of security at the Ram Janmabhoomi site in UP were suspended after a video of them dancing to a popular Bhojpuri song went viral.

Although in plain clothes, the four female constables can be seen dancing to the popular Bhojpuri song ‘Patli Kamariya Teri’. One of them records the video while another shakes her waist to the song while two others can be seen enjoying it.

They are all seen dressed in their winter clothes. However, it is still unclear if they were on duty or not. Reports said, the four of them are deployed in the security of Ram Janmabhoomi site.

The video of them surfaced on social media on Friday, officials said. They have been identified as Kavita Patel, Kamini Kushwaha, Kashish Sahni and Sandhya Singh.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Muniraj G ordered the suspension of the four constables based on an inquiry report filed by Additional SP (security) Pankaj Pandey on Thursday.

However, social media users have been divided over their suspension. While many claimed that the suspension was right, others pointed out that they are also human beings and there is no harm in enjoying and dancing.

A user wrote, “What’s wrong with dancing without a uniform? @ayodhya_police are requested to do their work instead of becoming Taliban.”

Similarly, another user wrote, “yeh galat bat hai inka bhi dil hai enjoy karneka.”

Two days back, a video of two men dancing inside a police station in UP had gone viral. In the video, we can see two men dancing to a Bhojpuri song at a police station in UP’s Maharajganj.  However, the police responded and said that the incident took place in a police station that is lying abandoned for a year now.

They further claimed that the men seen dancing in the video were mentally unstable.
