Kota (Raj): Two persons have been arrested from Jhalarapatan town of Jhalawar district with fake currency worth over Rs two lakh, police said here on Wednesday.

Acting on a tip-off, a Special Operation Group team arrested Siraj and Shafik Mohammd on Monday after they were caught selling fake currency of Rs 2.75 lakh, DSP (SOG) Harimohan Sharma said.

The duo admitted to have taken the currency from Mahidpur district of Madhya Pradesh, he said, adding, a couple of cases against them had earlier been registered at various police stations.

The fake currency is reported to have been printed from Madhya Pradesh, he said. A case has been lodged against the accused under Indian Currency Act, he said.
