The technology is advancing every day, bringing numerous new features to various industries.

However, suppose you are travelling and find yourself without cash while purchasing something. You also face an internet connectivity issue when trying to make an online payment via UPI or other online methods.

During such times, you might feel stuck, especially if you have already decided to buy the product.

Thankfully, there is a solution to this scenario. The National Payments Corporation of India (NPCI) introduced the '*99#' service in 2012, initially with limited accessibility.

However, in recent years, NPCI expanded its services to provide banking assistance to a wider audience across the country.

To use this service during an internet outage, simply dial '*99#' from your phone's call menu.

Upon entering this code, you will find various options available, such as sending money, receiving money, checking your balance, or changing your UPI PIN.

Each option corresponds to a number that you can press to proceed.

In the case of making a payment to a seller, you will need to press '1', then enter the seller's mobile number, UPI ID, or bank account details, followed by the payment amount and your UPI PIN.

Once you have completed these steps, your payment will be processed successfully.

This method can be a lifesaver during internet connectivity issues, allowing you to resolve payment-related concerns smoothly.

Currently, the maximum transaction limit for '*99#' is Rs 5000 per transaction, and there are no charges associated with using this service.
