Fake news alert: Govt denies reports of ISRO scientists not receiving salary for 3 months
Fake news stories can have a negative impact on society, prompting various government organisations to investigate and clarify the truth for the public.
A recent case involves a fake news story circulating on the internet, claiming that ISRO scientists have not received salaries for three months.
To address these rumours, the official government source, PIB Fact Check, took to its X handle, formerly Twitter to confirm that the news is indeed fake.
The agency stated that ISRO scientists receive their monthly salaries on the last day of every month.
The fake claim was spread through a podcast on 'The Ranveer Show - TRS Clip', where political analyst and consultant Tehseen Poonawalla asserted that ISRO scientists had not been paid for three months.
Tehseen Poonawalla confidently challenged others to fact-check his statement.
In response, PIB Fact Check posted a clear message on 'X' (Formerly Twitter) to debunk the claim, stating that ISRO scientists do receive their salaries regularly.
