In a crucial Group B game of the ongoing Women’s T20 World Cup against England at St George’s Park, Gqeberha, Indian team’s wicket-keeper Richa Ghosh took a stunning catch to send back Danielle Wyatt to the pavilion with a golden duck.

Twitter was flooded with appreciation for Richa after the acrobatic effort. As per the fans, the catch reminded them of former India captain MS Dhoni. Some RCB fans also heaped praise on Richa for her stunning catch. Richa will be representing the franchise in the upcoming inaugural season of Women’s Premier League 2023.

Responding to the brilliant catch, a third user tweeted, “Richa Ghosh took amazing catch _#Dhoni #T20WorldCup #INDvENG.” (sic)

Put into bat first, England women scored 151 for the loss of seven wickets. Nat Sciver Brunt (50, 42b, 5x4) was the highest scorer for them. Wicket-keeper batter Amy Zones (40, 27b, 3x4, 2x6) played a cameo to accelerate the scoring rate toward the end.

Renuka Singh (5/15) was the pick of the bowlers for Indian women. Shikha Pandey (1/20) and Deepti Sharma (1/37) captured one wicket each.

In reply, India were restricted to 140 for the loss of five wickets in the stipulated overs and lost by 11 runs. Smriti Mandhana (52, 41b, 7x4, 1x6) and Richa Ghosh (47, 34b, 4x4, 2x6) batted well, but failed to take India through.
