India’s star batsman Virat Kohli (44, 84b, 4x4) failed to convert a good start into something substantial as he was dismissed leg before wicket by spinner Matthew Kuhnemann on the second day of the second Test between India and Australia in New Delhi on Saturday.

Kohli looked quite comfortable at the crease and he was cruising for a half century when a delivery from Kuhnemann crashed into his pads in the 50th over of the innings. The umpire raised his finger. But Kohli confidently went for the review. The replays were inconclusive as it was difficult to figure out whether the ball has connected with the bat or the pads first.

However, the third umpire decided to stick to the on-field umpire’s decision and Kohli was back in the pavilion. Subsequently, the star batsman was found watching the replays on the screen along with the coaches in the dressing room. Kohli was also seen quite unimpressed. However, there was no outburst of emotion from the right-handed batsman. But, he was certainly angry after being given out by the third umpire.

Fans were also upset with the decision by the third umpire.

“It’s bat first, shit umpiring by the third umpire again. How unlucky can a man be ??? Virat Kohli goes for well made 44 runs,” tweeted a fan. (sic)

“Umpires never support Virat kohli like Mumbai Indians,” wrote another fan.
