Notably, Rohit was part of the side in the recently concluded warm-up game against Leicestershire. However, he did not take part on the last day of the game as he was diagnosed with Covid-19 and was asked to stay in isolation. Most likely, a call on who would lead India in the upcoming Test might be taken today.
Rohit’s exclusion from the all-important Test will be a massive setback for the visiting side as he is not only the captain of the side rather a top-order batsman. As per reports, if Rohit does not play, either Jasprit Bumrah or Rishabh Pant will lead the side.
