Generally fans see scores of one, two, three, four and six in cricket matches. However, score like ‘seven’ is a rare occurrence.

The incredible and unusual thing happened during a recent Test match between Australia’s Prime Minister’s XI and Pakistan. Australian batsman Matt Renshaw achieved the unthinkable by reaching his half-century with a score of ‘7’!

Luck played a significant role in Renshaw scoring a half century in that unusual fashion. The incident has sparked a discussion over various social media platforms.

In the 78th over of the game, Renshaw drove the ball in the bowling of Pakistan’s Abrar Ahmed to deep extra cover. Pakista’s Mir Hamza gave a lengthy chase and finally managed to prevent the ball from crossing the boundary. Then an unexpected turn followed. Hamza threw the ball to the non-striker’s end, where Pakistan’s former captain Babar Azam collected it.

Renshaw had already scored three runs in the process. However, Babar’s throw towards the wicket-keeper’s end missed both the stumps and the fielder. The ball reached the boundary in the process. Following the development, Renshaw was awarded an additional four runs. It allowed him to score a total of ‘7’ and in the process he achieved his half-century.

The video clip of the unusual incident has gone viral over various social media platforms.
