Though Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) explosive all-rounder Abhishek Sharma failed with the bat, he contributed with the ball in Qualifier 2 against Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024.

Abhishek captured crucial wickets of Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer and gave just 24 runs from four overs to play an important role in SRH’s victory.

Meanwhile, former India spinner Harbhajan Singh wants to see Abhishek Sharma in Team India’s squad for the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup 2024 to be held in USA and West Indies in June.

“Abhishek Sharma should have gone to the West Indies and the USA. He deserves to play for India. India have four spinners in the team and there is still a day left to make changes. The team needs players like him, who can contribute with the bat and ball,” said Harbhajan during an interaction.

Notably, the Ajit Agarkar-led selection committee has already named the 15-member team along with four reserves. However, the deadline to make any changes is May 25.

Abhishek has garnered more than 400 runs at a strike-rate of over 200 in the 17th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL).
