T20 World Cup 2024 is just round the corner as the marquee event will be played after the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL). The mega event will be held in West Indies and the USA from June 2.

Meanwhile, fans are super excited about the selection of the Indian team for the forthcoming T20 World Cup. BCCI selection committee led by former pacer Ajit Agarkar is expected to announce India’s 15-man squad later this month. The deadline for announcing the 15-member squad is May 1. As a result, the selectors are keeping a close eye on the players’ form in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). As per sources, based on the performances in the first half of the IPL, team for the marquee event will be announced.

Amid the ongoing permutations and combinations for the selection of the Indian squad, Former India batter Sanjay Manjrekar feels Rinku Singh’s selection in the squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup should be a no-brainer for the selectors.

As per Manjrekar, the selectors should not forget aggressive batter Rinku and pick him in the 15-man probables.

“As Rinku is not getting many opportunities, I hope selectors won’t forget about him. He is a straight walk-in into the Indian team. Every time he has got the opportunity, you have seen how good he can be, in the sense of his consistency and the range that he has. He is somebody who I like, apart from the core of the Indian team, apart from the big names we are thinking about,” said Manjrekar during an interaction.

Notably, southpaw Rinku has so far scored 356 runs in as many as 15 T20Is with an impressive strike rate of 176.23.
