ODI World Cup 2023: Irfan Pathan predicts this Indian bowler to be highest wicket taker

Former Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan, turned cricket analyst, has predicted the highest wicket-taker in the upcoming ICC ODI World Cup 2023 to be played in India.

As per Irfan, the Indian cricketer who can outplay others in the bowling department will be chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav.

Along with Irfan, other experts including Sanjay Manjarekar, Vinay Kumar and Mithali Raj also agreed upon Kuldeep to be the leading wicket-taker in the mega event.

Currently, Kuldeep holds the 10th spot in the ICC ODI bowling ranking. His performance in the recent Asia Cup 2023 has also been commendable as he picked up nine wickets in five matches, including the five-wicket haul against arch-rival Pakistan which helped India win by 228 runs.

Meanwhile, the second warm-up match of India against Netherlands was washed out due to rain. Earlier, the first warm-up match between India and England was washed out. This means India will play in the ICC ODI event without playing in any warm-up matches.

Hosts India will be gearing up for their first ODI World Cup 2023 match against Australia at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on October 8.
