Though there is a difference of opinion between many experts regarding the position of star batsman Virat Kohli in the Indian batting order for upcoming mega events like Asia Cup and World Cup, former South Africa legend AB De Villiers feels that Kohli will be best suited for the middle order.

Kohli’s former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) teammate AB de Villiers reckoned that India’s batting mainstay will be the perfect candidate to play at No.4 position for the Men in Blue.

“India are still looking for a batsman who can bat at No.4. I’ve heard some experts suggesting about Virat possibly taking up that position. I would be a big supporter of that,” said De Villiers.

“I think Virat is perfect for No. 4. He can put the innings together, play any kind of role in that middle order. I don’t know if he would like to do that. We know he loves his No. 3 position. He has scored all his runs there, but at the end of the day, if the team needs you to do something, play a certain role, you have got to put your hand up and got for it,” said the former Mr 360 degree batsman.

Notably, Kohli’s record at No. 4 is impressive. Seven of his 46 ODI hundreds have come while batting at that position.
