Football legend Lionel Messi is all likely to make his Major League Soccer debut with Inter Miami at a July 21 home game.

As per the team’s owner Jorge Mas, his club and Messi have agreed to terms and are finalizing paperwork and a visa. Mas further informed that Messi will be signing a contract through the end of the 2025 season with an option for 2026.

As per sources, Messi’s contract will be worth $50 million to $60 million per year. Messi cannot sign until sometime in July, after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain expires.

The Argentinian great announced on June 7 that he was joining Miami. The 35-year-old’d first game in Fort Lauderdale would be against Cruz Azul in the Leagues Cup.

Recently, Messi sent shockwaves across the footballing world after revealing that he would be leaving his current club Paris St Germain to join Major League Soccer’s Inter Miami.

As per Messi, PSG wasn’t giving him the joy he had when he was at Barcelona where he won four UEFA Champions League titles, 10 La Liga titles, seven Copa del Reys, and three Club World Cups.

“I want to get back to enjoy myself to enjoy my family, my children and the day-to-day. If the Barcelona thing didn’t work out, I wanted to leave Europe, leave the spotlight, and focus more on my family,” said Messi.
