Let's look at some of the most memorable finals played over the years in IPL.

Mumbai Indians Vs Chennai Super Kings (IPL 2019)

Often termed as El Classico of IPL, Mumbai Indians and Chennai Super Kings have had some moments in IPL. It was May 12, 2019, when MI and CSK faced each other in the finals at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium.
After choosing to bat first, Mumbai Indians made a competitive score of 149 runs, all thanks to the efforts of Kieron Pollard’s brisk knock of 41 of 25 balls.

In reply, Mumbai Indians made the perfect start by picking quick wickets at the start. MI spinners also applied pressure on CSK batters in the middle overs by picking wickets at regular intervals. In the end, it was Lasith Malinga’s brilliance that helped the Mumbai Indians win their 4th IPL title.

Mumbai Indians Vs Rising Pune Super Giants (IPL 2017)

Mumbai Indians and Rising Pune Super Giants faced each other in the low-scoring thrilling final at Hyderabad in 2017. Mumbai Indians didn’t click as a batting unit in that final match and made a below-par total of 129 runs. Krunal Pandya was the star with the bat as he made a priceless 47 runs.

In reply, Rising Pune failed to score 129 runs as Mumbai Indians bowlers defended a below-par score to win the IPL for the third time.

Gujarat Titans Vs Chennai Super Kings (2023)

Gujarat Titans and Chennai Super Kings clashed against each other in the 2023 IPL finals. Gujarat showcased an excellent batting display with the bat and scored 214 runs in 20 overs. But the match was cut short due to rain interruption.

In the second innings, Chennai was required to chase 170 runs in 15 overs due to the DLS rule method. The openers provided an excellent start for Chennai. In the end, Ravindra Jadeja scored 10 runs from the last 2 balls which helped Chennai to win from the jaws of defeat in Ahmedabad.
