Former India player heaps massive praise on Dhoni, terms him as ‘God of Jharkhand cricket’

Former India player Saurabh Tiwary heaped massive praise on India’s legendary captain MS Dhoni. He even went to the extent of terming Dhoni as the ‘God of Jharkhand cricket’. 

Former India skipper Dhoni is the only captain to win all three major ICC white-ball tournaments - T20 World Cup (in 2007), ODI World Cup (in 2011) and Champions Trophy (2013). As per Tiwary, people came to know about Jharkhand due to the former India captain. Tiwary also revealed on how Dhoni instills confidence in players of his team and stands by his teammates.

“MS Dhoni is the God of Jharkhand cricket. Ever since he started playing for India, people started knowing us as a team. They came to know where Jharkhand is. MS Dhoni gave us confidence and whenever he is around or in the town, he comes to attend our practice sessions. Sometimes, he takes part in the warm-up games also. His support is everything for us,” said Tiwary during a recent interaction.

“Dhoni bhaiya gives a lot of freedom when he is leading the team. He will stand by you even if you are not performing. Apart from leading the team, when Dhoni bhaiya is standing behind the wicket, he helps bowlers a lot. He would tell you how the wicket is responding and also he will help you with accurate field placements.”
