After their 28-run victory in the first Test at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium in Hyderabad, former England captain Michael Atherton believes that the visitors have a realistic chance to beat India in the Test series on its soil after 12 long years.

As per Atherton, England must have got a lot of confidence after the come from behind victory in the first Test.

“It was an unbelievable outcome in the first Test for England as they were behind on the basis of the first innings. Meanwhile, India are without KL Rahul and Ravindra Jadeja for the second game. England have a chance to win the second Test,” said Atherton.

The former great even compared Jadeja with Kohli and said that Washington Sundar or Kuldeep Yadav can’t replace the all-rounder.

“India are 0-1 down and will miss Ravindra Jadeja, who is the second most important player after Virat Kohli. His batting and bowling add value to Team India’s overall combination,” said Atherton.

“Washington Sundar, Saurabh Kumar and Kuldeep Yadav can’t replace Jadeja. All the problems lie with the Rohit Sharma-led team,” he added.
