India registered a comprehensive victory against visitors England in the first match of the T20I series in Kolkata. While England were bowled out for just 132 runs, India completed the chase in just 12.5 overs with seven wickets in hand.
Meanwhile, England speedster Jofra Archer has sent a stern warning to Indian batters ahead of the second T20I to be played in Chennai on January 25.
In the first match, Archer dismissed Sanju Samson and Suryakumar Yadav and conceded just 21 runs from his four overs. Archer is confident of a better show in the second match against India.
“Conditions favoured me more than the other bowlers. Our other bowlers bowled well. However, the batters were lucky as a lot of balls went up in the air but didn’t go to the fielders. India would be 40/6 in the next game if the balls go in the hands,” said Archer.

In the first match, mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy was the best bowler for India. He captured three wickets and was adjudged the Player of the Match for his brilliant bowling.
After the completion of the T20 series, India will also play a three-match ODI series against England before travelling to Dubai for the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy 2025.
