Champions Trophy: Will Team India captain Rohit Sharma travel to Pakistan?

Pakistan is hosting the upcoming ICC Champions Trophy. However, India will play all their matches in Dubai due to the bitter bilateral relationships between the arch-rivals.

ICC’s pre-tournament activities for the 2025 Champions Trophy include a press conference and an official photo shoot that is set to occur in Lahore.

However, there is a question mark whether Team India captain Rohit Sharma will travel to Pakistan to take part in the press conference and official photo shoot or not.

As per sources, final decision on whether the ICC will hold these events in Pakistan or move them to the UAE is still pending.

Moreover, reflecting about Rohit’s participation in those events, the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Secretary Devajit Saikia has voiced uncertainty.

“Whether Rohit Sharma will travel to Pakistan for ICC media engagements is something that’s still not decided,” said Saikia during a recent interaction.

As per sources, BCCI is currently considering whether captain Rohit Sharma will participate in pre-tournament events in Pakistan, including a photo shoot and press conference. A decision on this matter is still pending.

Notably, the mega event is set to begin on February 19. India are scheduled to play their matches in Dubai due to security concerns that have prevented their travel to Pakistan.
