India suffered a humiliating six wicket loss against hosts West Indies in the second ODI at Kensington Oval in Barbados on Saturday.

With just a couple of months remaining before the ODI World Cup 2023, India’s shocking defeat against West Indies, a team that has failed to qualify for the tournament irked fans who weren’t pleased with the constant and needless experiments.

Captain Rohit Sharma and star batsman Virat Kohli were surprisingly rested by the Indian management in the second ODI. Head coach Rahul Dravid was heavily criticised by fans for the move after the defeat.

‘Sack Dravid’ started to trend on Twitter a day after India’s defeat. Several netizens called for the Head Coach’s head after India’s defeat against West Indies.

Many fans also pointed to previous defeats in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022, and the World Test Championship final in 2023 among other setbacks.

“MI, RCB and CSK fans united for a cause after a long time. #SackDravid,” wrote a fan.

“Apni tarah hi Team India ko bhi defensive bana diya. You need to learn from Mccullum and Shastri. #SackDravid,” tweeted another fan.

Pointing at India’s underwhelming performances under Dravid’s coaching, a third user wrote, “Rahul Dravid as a coach : - lost 2021 T20 wc, lost odi series against ban, lost test series against sa, lost odi series against sa, lost asia cup, lost 2022 T20 wc, lost ODIs series against aus, lost WTC final, Dotvid destroy ICT.”
