Team India’s former and Chennai Super Kings’ current captain MS Dhoni is known to bring out the best from young players. The Captain Cool has shaped the career of many emerging cricketers who went on to become the greats of the game in future.

Even after his retirement from international cricket, Dhoni continues to inspire and instill that winning spirit and mindset in the current crop of players.

Recently, promising Indian batsman Rinku Singh shed light on his chat with Dhoni and how his learnings have helped him to shape his game as per the requirement of the international game.

“I try to talk to myself, and tell myself that anything can happen when I bat at No. 6. In the last IPL, I spoke to Mahi bhai, and he said the more you remain calm the better it is. Try to see what the bowler is doing and react accordingly. If I think too much, things can go wrong for me (laughs), so I see what the bowler is doing instead,” said Rinku in a recent interaction.

Notably, after performing splendidly in the Indian Premier League (IPL), Rinku has made a brilliant start to his T20 international career. He has so far garnered a total of 278 runs from nine innings at an impressive average of 69.50.
